According to the journalist, that would be the strongest signal for his electors and would give him the virtuous stand to have anyone else make his own effort to put the country back on his feet...

I'm not sure. But I would admire him for doing so if he ever does.

In  France last years, the elected President Sarkozy had himself his salary risen by 140% (figures in this article of a French national magazine), making a total 240.000 Euros a year (about 304.000 US$ with today's rate), all expenses already taken in charge by the Public Treasury, while asking all low and middle-paid employees to make an effort for the free-falling economy.

Did you ever suggest Bush not get paid, even though his family is worth hundreds of millions? Or Cheney?
Good lord. Both Obamas together haven't made as much in their entire lives as these CEO's make in one year.
Why don't you worry about the people who are getting laid off and losing their 401k's and have kids going hungry, while these CEO's are spending an employee's annual salary on ONE plane ride.
Thinking. I would like President Obama to lead the nation back to thinking. That is what we need most of all.

In a recent edition of Paris Match (the French version of Life magazine), there is a captivating photo of Barack and Michelle Obama's embrace onstage at Grant Park. The caption gushes "they are alone in the world in front of millions of spectators. Barack and Michelle Obama, Mister President and the First Lady, the victory of passion." In this photo, the Obamas look like the winners of the tango Olympics; the intensity of their relationship leaps off the page. Time magazine features a photo of the very same moment from a different angle. The affect is completely different and the caption reads, "Yes, they can. The President-elect shares an embrace with the future First Lady. The couple have promised their children a White House puppy." I know we Americans are puritans, but really: a puppy?

Why do we Americans, in our demand for family values symbolism, throw cold water on our leader's passions. The Obamas have a lot of hopes pinned on them and here's another one: maybe, the Obamas can restore full faith in fulfilling marriage.

Je ne peux pas m'empêcher de porter à votre connaissance cet article qui parle de l'attitude de Barack et Michelle Obama l'un envers l'autre.

Très instructif et qui nous en dit long sur le nouveau Président.

Les hommes ne sont pas obligés de le lire, mais je leur recommande tout de même fortement, en tant que femme mariée. Pas d'autres commentaires.

That's a bright demonstration of what Ms Palin is capable of (or more accurately not capable of) in terms of keeping her brain alert while speaking about politics. Killing animals is part of her deep nature, OK, no need to fuss about a turkey having its throat cut. But could she think one second about the viewers? She looks like the only woman on earth who's not able to talk and do something else at the same time.

D'accord, elle tue des animaux comme on change de chemise, alors une pauvre dinde qui se fait égorger, pas de quoi fouetter un chat. Mais peut-elle penser un seul instant à tous ceux qui vont regarder ça ????

On dirait que c'est la seule femme sur cette planète qui est incapable de parler et de faire autre chose en même temps.
